Department of Special Education (Hearing Impairment)

The Department of Special Education (HI) offers both B.Ed and D.Ed Special Education (Hearing Impairment) Courses with an intake capacity of 30 students in each course and two years of study duration. The Department of Special Education (Hearing Impairment) was set up the aim to impart professional training, manpower developmentand  provide special education to children with hearing impairment, carry out research investigations and increase awareness among general public regarding special need of children and adults with hearing impairment. The staff of the department is involved in training students of Diploma and Under-graduate courses in Special Education, conducting research, providing special educational services to children with special needs, guidance, motivation and counseling to parents and caregivers, disseminating information and resources to other professionals, and empowering caregivers.

The department is motivated to achieve this goal through accomplishment of the following objectives:
  • Skilled Man power development in the field of special education of children with hearing impairment.
  • Providing quality special educational services to the children with hearing impairment.
  • Promoting research and development work in the field of special education.
  • To conduct CRE, Conferences, Seminars, workshop various target groups around the country.
